A first of it’s kind women’s conference is coming to Ft. Myers. “This is something that our community has never had before,” said speaker Jesi Crane. “With the recent challenges of Covid and of Ian, a lot of people have had some changes. This is a great place for them to come, be renewed, and learn a lot about how to help themselves.” It’s called levelHERup. The one-day conference is the result of a partnership between Lee Health, the Greater Ft. Myers Chamber of Commerce, and FSW Foundation. “The conference was created by women for women,” said Dr. Cherrie Morris. The conference will offer yoga, speakers, a health panel, networking, vendors, and breakout sessions. Crane will be speaking on financial planning for females. “Women do typically live longer than men. We earn in less money. There is a pay gap, so we have less money to save. Also, we were out of the workforce for a period of time because we are caretakers of our children. Our parents, so those are three things that are really challenges against us that men typically don’t have,” said Crane. The inaugural conference will be May 17 at FSW. “We want them feeling elevated. We want them to feel like they learned something at our conference. They got inspired at the conference now they can move forward in a direction that may be they only dreamed about,” said Dr. Morris. You can buy tickets here: https://fortmyers.org/events/apex-wom…. Proceeds will go towards scholarships for local women pursuing careers in healthcare.
