About the Committee

The Member Advocacy Committee acts as a voice for business on legislative, community and economic development issues within Greater Fort Myers through leadership and education.

  1. Utilize an evaluation form to identify a priority list of issues that will be tracked. The priority is established through committee discussions and input from local business leaders and owners.
  2. Pursue dialogue with local, regional, and state legislators. Based on those discussions, provide local businesses with relevant information to help them navigate future decisions.
  3. Be a resource for members on new or modified legislation that impacts Chamber members.
  4. Create useful and meaningful forums for discussion and understanding members’ views on issues and/or proposed legislation.
