Scripts Uncensored, The Lab’s Banned Book Club, meets Oct. 29th
FORT MYERS, FL (October 8, 2023) Scripts Uncensored, The Laboratory Theater of Florida’s banned book club for high school students meets monthly to read scripts that have been removed, challenged, or outright banned across the country.
Each month includes a table read of a play followed by a discussion about the play, the social and political climate that existed when it was written, and why it has been challenged today. Each month is led by a different theater professional.
On October 29, from 6 – 9 pm., the group will read and discuss George Orwell’s 1984. After a table read, the students will be led in a discussion

January 28 at 6 PM To Kill A Mockingbird based on the novel by Harper Lee
February 25 at 6 PM The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
March 31 at 6 PM The Diary of Anne Frank
April 28th at 6 PM The Laramie Project
Thanks to a generous donation, this event is FREE and for high school students. Registration is available on the Lab Theater website.
