Cannabis Professional Certificate Program

 Greetings! join us for the Cannabis Professional Online Certificate Program in Spring 2023. Discover the exciting industry of cannabis and earn CEUs as a physical or occupational therapist!

The Cannabis Professional Certificate Program is an intensive, multidisciplinary, 4-week workshop designed to meet the needs of those who want to increase their understanding of cannabis and its effects. The workshop will educate participants about the characteristics of the plant; cultivation and extraction techniques; the physiology, pharmacology, and medicinal uses of cannabis; cannabis laws and policies; cannabis as a business; the unique tax, banking, and insurance challenges in the cannabis industry; the history of cannabis; and how to make edibles. The program is comprised of four 1-week modules. The videos and materials for each module are available starting on Sunday. Registrants can work at their own pace to complete the module throughout the week and will then participate in a live virtual class via Zoom on the following Saturday morning.

Meet the Director Behind the Program

Dr. Martha Rosenthal is a Professor of Neuroscience & Physiology at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she teaches courses in cannabis, drugs and society, neuroscience, human physiology, and human sexuality. Dr. Rosenthal is the Director of Research and Education for the Cannabis Research, Education, and Workforce initiative (CREW) at FGCU. Dr. Rosenthal received her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia, her master’s degree in neuropharmacology from Brown University, and her Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA. She is the author of a number of textbooks, including Drugs: Mind, Body, and Society. Dr. Rosenthal has been honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award at both the University of Florida and at FGCU and to have presented a TED talk about sex and gender.
