FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 30, 2018) – Tickets are now available for the 15th Annual Sam Galloway Jr. & Friends Annual Soup Kitchen Benefit scheduled for Thursday, March 8th. This is one of Southwest Florida’s most anticipated fundraising events with over 600 guests and a donated southern-style dinner inside of the service garages at Sam Galloway Ford. The event will be once again held at Sam Galloway Ford in Fort Myers.

“Hunger and food insecurity continues to be an issue here in Southwest Florida, especially post Hurricane Irma,” said Tracey Galloway, CEO of Community Cooperative.  “We have seen significant increases in the number of children, families and elderly that benefit from our programs and we need the community’s support now more than ever.”
Funds raised at the event benefits Community Cooperative, the umbrella agency for the Community Cafés and Market, the Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Healthy School Pantry and Food Literacy in Pre-School (FLIP) programs, Mobile Food Pantries, and Social and Education Resource Centers for our hungry and homeless residents in need.
The event has sold out for several years and continues to be one of the signature events in our community.  Each year, local restaurants, companies and individuals donate the southern-style menu including barbeque chicken and pork, broasted chicken, brisket, fried shrimp and cheese grits, swamp cabbage, gourmet meatloaf and mashed potatoes, okra, collard greens, fresh green beans, corn bread, bananas foster, homemade cookies and gourmet chocolates.
