Zentangle For The Seasons 4 Tuesdays September 5th – September 26th 6:00 – 8:00PM Zentangle is an easy-to-learn method of drawing patterns step by step. It is relaxing, gratifying and a great way to exercise the creative side of your brain! Beginning with the basics in the first class, we’ll then create a variety of Art works throughout the month, based on the season. Instructor is a Certified Zentangle Teacher and has been teaching it for over 10 years. Supplies will be provided by the Instructor. Learn More Instructed Life Drawing – Gestural and Structural Approach to the Figure 4 Wednesdays September 6th – 27th 12:30PM – 3:30PM “Students both beginning, intermediate and advanced can learn from Francesco’s excellent teaching methods, knowledge, humor, passion for the human form and all aspects of fine art. Offered for all levels, Anna guides you a grounding practice for beginners to experienced yogis. We will focus on movements that promote flexibility, strength, and steadiness, working with intention to connect with your body and mind in a deep and meaningful way. At the conclusion of each session, we dedicate ten minutes to guided meditation, creating a peaceful sanctuary within. Visit our Website Beginner Bonsai September 6th 6:00PM-9:00PM The first part of our workshop will be a presentation discussing the terminology, history, philosophies and aesthetics used in Bonsai. We’ll also cover tools used, techniques needed, and soil mechanics. This will be followed by questions and discussion of live trees, with examples. Finally students will have the opportunity to use the remaining two hours to prune, shape, and repot their tree into a more pleasing Bonsai container. Aftercare instructions and troubleshooting will wrap up the program. Learn More Beginner Oil Painting With Terry Lynn (Ages 16+) September 6th 6:30PM – 9:00PM Oil painting is very forgiving and a lots of fun! This class will introduce you to the fundamentals of oil painting. From color mixing to paint application, creating texture, depth, movement in your painting. Students can use their own pictures to paint from or use the instructor’s references. Learn More Painting With Francesco (Ages 18+) 4 Thursdays September 7th – 28th 12:30PM – 3:30PM “If you are interested in an oil painting class where you can learn as a beginner or be pushed to the next level as a seasoned artist, Francesco’s class is for you. You will see progress from the first lesson on. Mix colors like a pro or make your compositions better. It’s like a college level class only more fun.” Francesco taught painting at University and College level before the many Art Centers, his painting class is designed for beginners to advanced students. Beginners will learn how to handle the medium and how to mix color effectively. Intermediate students will copy old masters, matching colors and brushstrokes. Advanced students will be helped integrating art history and contemporary art concepts in their personal work. Francesco’s one on one assistance and feedback ensures beginning student’s understanding and keeps intermediate students engaged and challenged. Linda’s hands-on teaching technique allows you to create along with her in the classroom. Learn something new or refresh your skills. You will learn brush techniques, color theory, perspective, gradients, and composition. Each week is a new lesson complete with reference handouts. The process is fun, accessible and creates beautiful results. In this comprehensive workshop, Artist Tammy DeCaro will lead you through the ins and outs of pouring medium, choosing paint, monitoring the consistency of paint, and mixing the colors. Utilizing a technique that originated in Indonesia called Batik, you will be working with multiple templates on Ginwashi rice paper, using melted wax and watercolor to create a beautiful painting that will boast a fabric-like finish. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, you will thoroughly enjoy this distinctive creative process, but do not hesitate to enroll. Visit our Website College Level 1300c Drawing With Francesco Gillia (Ages 15+) Every Monday September 11th – November 27th 6:30PM – 9:30PM Francesco Gillia has been teaching University and College Art classes since 2009. If you are interested in learning how to draw, or missed the opportunity to take an Art class in college, or need a head start for College, this is your chance! This 12 week college level course is designed to give the students the skills needed to complete a competent figurative drawing. Line control and sensitivity, shape, perspective, and development of value for light, form, and space are the foundation for all visual arts disciplines, like painting, printmaking, sculpture, illustration, computer animation, architecture, also graphic design and product design.
