Learn More ![]() Call to Artists for September’s Juried Exhibit We believe in the healing power of art. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, we have seen a great need for healing in our community. We are asking artists to create artwork about their experiences during or after the storm in any capacity. It may be stories of resilience or trauma or loss. It can evoke a wide range of emotions. It is meant to be cathartic and therapeutic and shareable, something everyone can relate to in some way. Artists may submit 1 – 3 pieces for consideration for this exhibition. There is no entry fee. We encourage artists to submit 2D and 3D artwork using found objects and recycled materials collected after Hurricane Ian. Alternatively, we ask artists to submit artwork expressing their experiences during and after Hurricane Ian. All media will be accepted, such as paint, collage, photo, drawing, print, etc. Only original artwork will be accepted. No giclée. All entries must be submitted online no later than August 7 at 5pm. No materials will be accepted at the Alliance – this exhibit is online entries only. Full details can be found on the Prospectus. Learn More In the Gallery ![]() Susan Martin, Into the Green: Botanical Insights Exhibition August 4th – August 26th Opening Reception: August 4th, 5-7pm • See it first. See it free. This event is open to the public. Come meet your neighbors and enjoy light refreshments provided by Jayne Baker at this free event! Susan Martin has been fascinated by the visual richness of the botanical world since childhood. Her Botanica Series reflects this consuming interest in the variety of colors, shapes, and lines found in nature. Strong light reveals intriguing forms and textures. From the mass of plant life, Martin carves out tightly cropped compositions, eliminating unessential elements and paring down the painting subject to what first attracted her. Theatre Lobby Gallery: Jade Griffin “The First Theatre Production” (2023) is a collection of narrative-driven oil paintings created over this calendar year by Visual Artist Jade Griffin. This body of work crosses the boundaries of normalcy and what is acceptable. It pushes the boundaries of how we see ourselves and strangers in everyday life. Cartoonish facial features, exaggerated scenes, and extended limbs offer a new perspective on humanity through each piece. Jade’s artistic vision is influenced by George Condo’s Artificial Realism movement. Members Gallery: Summer Arts Camps Our Member Gallery walls will be covered with artwork from each session of Summer Arts Camps participants. Each session runs two weeks, with art rotating on the same schedule. Learn More ![]() ![]() ![]() |
