FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 27, 2023) – Cape Coral Community Foundation recently held its’ annual Charity Event Awards at the Crowne Plaza in Fort Myers. The Charity Event Awards dinner is for nonprofit executives, board members, event fundraising professionals, marketing and public relation leaders, event sponsors and private donors to gather to celebrate the best fundraising events and the most outstanding charitable organizations that host, plan, and promote events to raise funds to fulfill their mission. SWFL Children’s Charities received the top award of Best Overall Charity Event in Southwest Florida from a total of 14 event nominations in this category. Several other regional charity organizations were represented in multiple categories.

“We are humbled and honored to receive this award among so many other great events in our community,” said Ed Bell, President of SWFL Children’s Charities, Inc.

SWFL Wine & Food Fest helps SWFL Children’s Charities fulfill its mission of enhancing pediatric healthcare in our region by supporting important initiatives including Golisano Children’s Hospital. Participation by a board of trustees allows for 100% of the proceeds the day of the auction to go to charity organizations.

The two-day extravaganza kicks off at the Chef Vintner Dinners on Friday, Jan. 19th, 2024, to be hosted in private luxury homes throughout the region to experience culinary creations from honorary chefs mindfully paired with exclusive wineries.  The Grand Tasting & Live Auction will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20th at Suncoast Arena at Florida SouthWestern State College where attendees can bid on unique trips and fine wine and dining experiences from all over the world.
