Plumbing Nerds participates in JA Inspire career exp

Fort Myers, FL (May 23, 2023) – Helping inspire Southwest Florida’s future workforce, Plumbing Nerds participated in the Junior Achievement Inspire career expo for eighth-grade students attending schools in Lee and Collier Counties.

Plumbing Nerds executives and other employees talked with students about their career goals and how Fort Myers-based company might be able to help. Plumbing Nerds was a sponsor for the event, which took place at Alico Arena on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University. Over 10,000 students and 100 businesses participated, making it one of the largest career expos in Southwest Florida history.

JA Inspire was established to help meet the workforce needs of our region’s fast-growing industries. The program is interactive and highly engaging, starting with an eight-lesson curriculum taught in classrooms. After the lessons, students attend the career expo to have meaningful conversations with real Southwest Florida employers, like Plumbing Nerds, and learn what it takes to earn credentials, gain real-world work experience, and ultimately become employed.
