Our Mother’s Home Presents One-of-a-Kind A Seat at the Table

Fort Myers, November 17, 2023 – Our Mother’s Home of Southwest Florida presents A Seat at the Table, taking place at The Alderman House on Thursday, January 11th and featuring powerful stories from women and men in our community about how they have been able to bring their own ”seat to the table”.

Our Mother’s Home is proud to bring its second annual A Seat a the Table to The Alderman House for the first time. This is a unique event that will create a lasting impact on the community and is sure to sell out, as there are a limited number of seats to keep the event intimate. A Seat at the Table will allow guests to experience an intimate night under the stars. The ticket includes a private dining experience at one of Fort Myers’ most beautiful event spaces, a cocktail hour, beer and wine throughout the evening, a champagne toast, and an opportunity to bring home a literal seat or table.

Local artists from the area will be creating gorgeous pieces of art, live, during the evening, and guests can take one home via silent auction. Dinner will consist of important conversations that will help improve the vision of unity and bring SWFL together. Conversation cards will be set out throughout the tables, sponsored by local Architect and Design firm, Studio+ and facilitated by JetSetState and its founder, Jason Teeters.

Some of the speakers include TaSheekia Harris, founder of Crowning Daughters for Success, an enrichment program that promotes the development of self-esteem in young women, and Kinfay Moroti, an Emmy-Award winning story-teller and Photojournalist whose experience in the foster care system helped mold who he is today. There will also be a live auction with five remarkable packages, totaling over $15,000 in value. Tickets can be purchased at their website, www.ourmothershome.org.

About Our Mother’s Home

Our Mother’s Home provides a safe and nurturing environment for young mothers, ages 11-18, in the foster care and human trafficking systems. Their mission is to empower young mothers to break the generational cycle for themselves and their children. They envision a world of independent women who believe in themselves to accomplish their dreams. As a privatized 501(c)3 organization, Our Mother’s Home raises 50-60% of its funding to provide teen moms with a supportive environment to live with their children, learn life skills, and finish their education. By purchasing a ticket to this event, guests are helping pave the way for young mothers to have their own “seat at the table”.
