Tammy chose the Alliance because “they offer innovative art classes and the culture fit with my desire to bring modern art mediums like fluid and resin art to the members. Alliance has been a leading force in Lee county for years and is known for having fresh ideas that continue to surprise and engage art lovers.” Tammy is a multi-talented artist who explores many different mediums, so it is difficult to choose her favorite. “I love to teach any art medium – but Fluid Art painting is my favorite. It’s amazing how complete beginners react when they see the paint release and reveal magic- al lacing and cells. Once they create their first fluid art painting, even the most nervous students get excited and curious about the next technique. I have several repeat students because they are curious and engaged in learning multiple techniques. Many of them come to multiple classes each year and it is incredible to see their confidence and creativity as an artist grow each class.” The biggest takeaway for Tammy has been seeing the joy of a student discovering a new art medium and how that can inspire creativity in students. She has had accomplished artists take her classes to learn a new art medium and they have shared their knowledge with her. “That is so much fun – to chat and connect with someone accomplished in another medium and collaborate on how Fluid Art could be used to inspire traditional brush painting, glazing on ceramics, jewelry makers and so many other art forms.” The Alliance is proud to offer Tammy’s Fluid Art classes and workshops, be sure to check out our class schedule and try one for yourself!
