Shred Your Sensitive Documents for Free at LMCU’s Fort Myers Shred Day Events

Fort Myers, FL. (April 20, 2023) – Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce their first spring Shred Your Stuff Day event at their Gulf Coast branch in Fort Myers, open to anyone in the community. No LMCU membership is required.

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, anyone can bring up to six Bankers-Box-sized boxes of sensitive or personal documents to LMCU’s Gulf Coast branch, located at 17830 Ben Hill Griffin Pkwy in Fort Myers, and have them professionally shredded and disposed of for free by Safeguard Shredding.

A similar event will take place at LMCU’s other Fort Myers branch, located at 7920 Summerlin Lakes Dr, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 13.

Those looking to have their documents shredded are asked to join the event’s drive-through line at the branch and remain in their vehicles for the safety of staff and participants.

“We are excited to bring Shred Days to our Fort Myers community,” said LMCU Vice President of Community Relations, Matt Cook. “We have been doing these events at other branches for years, and they are a great way for community members to get rid of documents taking up space while also better protecting themselves from identity theft.”
