LUNAFEST (Virtual + In Person) – Short Film Screening

The world’s first all-women traveling film festival is at the Alliance for the Arts this Friday!

Friday, May 13 • Join us for LUNAFEST – a program of short films that empower and inspire! This year’s stories are told from a variety of perspectives that champion women and gender nonconforming individuals, highlighting their aspirations, accomplishments, resilience, strength, and connection.

LunaFest celebrates a powerful and diverse set of women filmmakers and helps expose their short films to a national platform. LunaFest has empowered and shared the work of more than 170 women filmmakers giving them the opportunity to tell their stories and opening the door for filmmakers who might not otherwise be given the chance to show their art.

Paper Marbling Workshop

Two-Day Workshop, May 14 & 15 •Marbling is a unique process in which paint is carefully dropped onto a liquid bath. The drops are then teased into designs and printed on paper. In this two day class students will explore all facets of this magical process.

Havana Nostalgia: A Night with Bernardo Lichilin

Saturday, May 28 • Join us for an incredible night with Havana’s Virtuoso tenor singer, plus food, drinks and cigar rollers! Connect with culture and community during this exclusive event.

Summer Arts Camp for Grades 1 – 7

Sessions June – August 2022 • A camp session consists of two immersive weeks of the best summer arts camp in southwest Florida. Fill your child’s summer with an exhilarating array of activities like art, theatre, photography and movement! Don’t miss out on the unique opportunity to experience, explore and engage with both visual and performing arts.

Choose your own art•venture with weekly session themes exploring the elements of wind, earth, fire and water through both visual and performing arts as well as science experiments.

Improv Comedy Night

Saturday, May 28 • Oops We’re A Troupe is fast paced musical improv comedy in the style of Whose Line Is It Anyway. Expect big laughs and lots of audience participation! With special guest star – renound Tampa comedy performer Darryl Knapp, Julian Sundby, Lucy Sundby, Caitlynn Wilde and Adam Santa Fe.

The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long Movie & Event

Sunday, June 12 • Ladies and gents, this is the moment you’ve waited for: the Alliance for the Arts is thrilled to announce its very first sing-a-long event! Enjoy a variety of snacks, popcorn, food trucks, community, camaraderie, circus surprises and more! Costumes encouraged – come as a ringmaster, clown, animal, mime or acrobat! Seating is first come, first serve with screenings at 2 p.m. or 5 p.m. with a special performance by Citrus Circus in-between showings.

Reflections: Members Exhibition

Exhibits July 1 – 31 • We invite our current members to submit one work following the theme “Reflections” to be displayed in the main gallery during this month-long group exhibition. As an artist and an Alliance member, this is your annual opportunity to exhibit your work in our main gallery! No online submission process, no jury notification – simply the opportunity to celebrate the artists that make our community so unique.
