Funds will be used to support JA’s educational programs and to purchase needed supplies for students

FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 27, 2023)Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida (JA) is pleased to announce that it has received an amazing gift from a group of Southwest Florida women that are strengthening communities through fellowship, education, volunteerism and philanthropy. A $10,000 grant was awarded to the non-profit organization by The League Club to support funding of the JA educational program kit and supplies needed for students in Title 1 schools in Lee and Collier Counties.

The League Club, Inc. is a 501 ©(3) organization open to women who have been or are active members of a Junior League that is a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International.

The League Club has supported 182 agencies over the 36 years they have been giving out grants. They have given out close to seven million dollars. These monies are raised from The League Club’s Annual Fundraiser, Naples Tables, held every spring in Naples.

The League Club President Denise Hadley said, “The heart and soul of The League Club is our Community Involvement Committee. For over three decades The League Club has addressed critical needs of at-risk adults and children in the areas of food scarcity, shelter, education, and the arts through grants to non-profit agencies in Collier and Lee Counties.”

Angela Fisher, CEO of Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida is thankful for the grant and stated, “With the support of The League Club we are able to continue our work by teaching young people in Southwest Florida the skills they need to succeed in the future. We appreciate what the League Club has done for us and continues to do.”
