Description: MAD LIBS LIVE is energetic, original and fast-paced. It captures the essence of the classic word game, and watching it can help kids distinguish between nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. In the one-hour musical, you meet four students from Blankville Central High School: Gogo the jock, Virtuosa the diva, shy and artsy Merrily and Geyser the nerd.

Description: In William Shakespeare’s stage classic; love, magic, betrayal, truth and desires take center stage. Hermia has a decision to make, Lysander or Demetrius. She loves Lysander but Demetrius has a better standing in court, more money, though he’s not so nice. Hermia’s best friend Helena only has eyes for Demetrius and will do anything to have him. Including selling out Hermia and Lysander as they plan to elope. The four lovers end up lost in the forest trying to find their way out. However, what they encounter will change the course of their lives. Presented by Cypress Lake Center for the Arts High School drama department.

Description: “TragiComic transgender-identifying true confessional” and “obscene, maniacal burlesque headliner” seem like incompatible elements…but this gritty song-and-dance nightclub comedian has combined stranger, stickier things onstage. Nine-time Fringe honoree Vulva Va-Voom asks of queer identity: “Who gets to define whether someone is a drag queen, king, or an in-between?” Hardships, meet hilarity.

Description: The Other Side is a story of survival, an experience of magic, and a message of hope. Magician Sebastian Gerhardt was 22 years old when he was diagnosed with an inoperable, malignant brain tumor and told he had six months to live. It was time to say goodbye to his family, friends, and loved ones. This show is his story; combining magic and storytelling to express his newfound appreciation for life and inspire others to do the same.

Description: Theatre Instructor, Carmen Crussard will teach students the basics of improvisation, a foundational acting skill. Name: Compose a Piece in One Month: A Beginner’s Guide
Date: Four Thursdays, June 6-27

Description: Join Dr. Daniel Nistico, celebrated musician and teacher, for this five week course as he guides participants through composing a piece of music from scratch. It works through a process called model composition, where you take a piece you love to play and study how it’s structured. Students then craft a composition based on their model piece.

Name: Polymer Clay Workshop: Gnomes and Trolls

Description: In this polymer clay workshop students will learn about polymer clay. They will create a figurine of their choice allowing their imagination to run wild. Main Gallery Exhibition Transcendental: David Acevedo

Description: In this exhibition,David Acevedo seeks to create a fantasy landscape where his memories and history can live in peace.The color palette he uses varies from time to time because of the ever-changing mind that dictates it. Never one to follow recipes, Acevedo creates his own mixture of mediums until he feels content. A notable part of his work is the hidden message or symbols in the work, drawing the viewer into each piece and creating intrigue.

Hatchett possessed a keen ability to invent new methods of artistic expression.

Name: Fluid Art Landscape 101 with Cathleen Ozmore

Description: Theatre Instructor, Carmen Crussard will introduce students to some of the most effective Acting Methods. Lessons will include: Text analysis, Creating intention Self-Awareness and Whole Actor Acting. Students should prepare audition monologues to present in class and use as a basis for practice during each class session. One 1-minute monologue would be appropriate for the duration of the course. Name: Decorative Stitch Book

Description: In this class students will create a 6×5 blank book, perfect for sketching, journaling or note taking. The day will begin with creating your canvas cover, using acrylic paint and stencils and bind the book using a cross long stitch. Students will leave the class with a beautiful and unique book and the skills to make more. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with prior knowledge of book binding.

Name: Acrylic Painting with Pat Smelkoff: St. Augustine Welcome

Name:Step-by-Step Batik: Sea Maiden
Date: Sunday, June 30
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Description: Utilizing a technique that originated in Indonesia called Batik, students will work with multiple templates on Ginwashi rice paper, using melted wax and watercolor to create a beautiful painting that will boast a fabric-like finish. This class is open to students of all skill levels and limited to six participants.
