Six Questions for our Liebermann Flute Concerto Soloist, and Gulf Coast Symphony
Fellow, Anna Trujillo

1. What made you interested in the Gulf Coast Symphony Fellowship program initially?

Last year I moved to Fort Myers after graduating college at the University of Denver and I
was looking into being part of the musical community in the area. The opportunity of doing
the Fellowship program with GCS sounded perfect. The amount of concerts and fun repertoire
I saw on their website made me reach out to audition for it.

2. What do you hope to accomplish in this second fellowship year with Gulf Coast Symphony?

I hope to become even more confident as a principal player and I am looking forward to
playing lots of chamber music with the other fellows.

3. What do you enjoy most about performing with Gulf Coast Symphony?

I really enjoy the community. The audience at the GCS concerts is always very receptive
and loyal. The environment at the concerts is always very uplifting and fun.

4. What initiatives would you like to see realized by your Fellowship colleagues?

I would love to see more chamber music done by the fellows. Chamber music can be very versatile
and it’s easier to bring to the community.

5. How is the Gulf Coast Symphony Fellowship program helping in your career advancement?

The exposure we get at GCS is amazing. The many great concerts and the challenging repertoire is
a great training for the future.

6. Please share one this about yourself that our audience does not know about you.

The audience might not know that the first instrument I played was the violin. But the flute is so much
better I couldn’t resist.
