Edison and Ford Winter Estates Opening Garden Shoppe this Weekend

FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 13, 2022) — Edison and Ford Winter Estates is re-opening the Garden Shoppe this Saturday, October 15 at 9 a.m. The Garden Shoppe carries exotic ornamentals, Florida natives, fruit trees, herbs, vegetables and butterfly plants. Decorative ceramic flower pots, fountains, and garden art pieces are also available.

“We know a lot of people in the area lost plants during the hurricane and want to replace them quickly,” said Debbie Hughes, horticulture director at Edison and Ford Winter Estates. “We were very lucky here that many of the plants in the Garden Shoppe survived the hurricane and some are actually blooming.”

Guests should park on Larchmont Avenue and enter through the gate near the corner of Larchmont and McGregor Boulevard. Power is on in the Garden Shoppe and credit cards will be accepted. Members receive a discount on all retail purchases. The Shoppe will be open daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. New shipments of plants will arrive weekly.

The remainder of the property is still being cleared of debris and will open at a later date. Anyone wanting to help restore the gardens, may make a donation through the website at EdisonFord.org.
