Fort Myers Small Businesses Kickoff Thanksgiving Drive to Help Feed 1,000 Families

(FORT MYERS, Fla., Nov. 13, 2023) – Salty Papa’s Shrimp House and Sunset Builders & Maintenance are asking for the community’s participation in their Thanksgiving Drive to benefit the Gladiolus Food Pantry.

“A year after Hurricane Ian, too many in our area are still facing homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity, and all of us at Salty Papa’s want them to know that they are cared about this Thanksgiving.” Said Vallee Haverley, owner of Salty Papa’s Shrimp House. “We have teamed up with our sister company, Sunset Builders & Maintenance, and are providing all the food needs for the women and children at the RYAN Healing Center and have purchased 200 turkeys to assist the Gladiolus Food Pantry in their annual drive-up bagged Thanksgiving dinner event to be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023. This is not enough to feed 1,000 families though, so we’re asking all our guests to once again show the power of collective giving, and bring a non-perishable food item donation with you when you dine with us this week.”

The Gladiolus Food Pantry is seeking the following store-bought, sealed traditional Thanksgiving food items:

  • Frozen Turkeys
  • Gravy and Broth
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Dried Potatoes
  • Stuffing Mix
  • Green Beans
  • Corn

Donations can be dropped off at Salty Papa’s Shrimp House located at 15271 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL, daily between 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Items will be accepted through November 17.
