Direct from Heaven to Florida Rep’s ArtStage

Through the power of harmony, the expanding holes in the ozone layer, in conjunc-
tion with the positions of the planets and all that… astro-technical stuff, Florida Rep
audiences get to experience heavenly and delightful performances by a very special
four-man group, The Plaids, in FOREVER PLAID.

Frankie, Sparky, Jinx, and Smudge have been plucked from the ether (according to
the story) and given a second chance at performing for a real audience. The Plaids’
heavenly voices and quirky personalities are charming patrons of all ages. This
fun, nostalgic, musical joyride plays NOW through October 27 in the ArtStage
Studio Theatre.

Part comedy. Part history. Inspired by real-life figures. BEN BUTLER is a battle of wit
and wordplay set at the dawn of the Civil War. This seriously funny comedy follows a
pivotal moment in history when a runaway slave attempts to negotiate for his life with
Union Army general, Benjamin Butler. The newly installed Fort Monroe general must
face an impossible moral dilemma: follow the law or alter the course of U.S. history.
