Upcoming Changes to Museum Hours Starting on September 9, CMON will be closed three days a week for maintenance and cleaning. The museum will be open Thursday through Sunday, from 10 am until 4:30 pm, until October 9 2024. Halloween Spooktacular Tickets On Sale Now CMON is celebrating Halloween with our annual not-so-scary Hallow- een Spooktacular all day on Saturday, October 19! This eerie-sistable event will take place at three designated times throughout the day and the museum will ONLY be open for members and guests with Hallow- een Spooktacular event tickets. So choose the CMON Halloween Spooktacular time that is best for you and your family (10:00am – 12:00pm; 1:00 – 3:00pm, or 4:00-6:00pm) and come dressed in your favorite costumes for Halloween activities, games, trick or treating, and more! The Book Fair will be at CMON until Tuesday, Sep- tember 6. Explore old favorites and new stories alike with hundreds of books for all ages to choose from during this week-long book bonanza! Museum admission is not required to shop. A percentage of Book Fair profits come back to CMON to help us Play, Learn, and Dream with the children of Southwest Florida. Shop Online Until September 11 National Read a Book Day is September 6 September 6 is National Read a Book Day! CMON invites you to join us for special story times every hour on the half hour, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, to celebrate the joy of reading together Mini Buddhas Yoga September’s Mini Buddha’s session will take place on Sunday, September 8. This 30-minute session is designed for Mini Buddhas of all ages. Parents are encouraged to play and participate. Taught by Just Play by E. Co’s Elaina Vasta, this session will introduce children to yoga through imaginative themes that take them on a journey incorporating yoga, dance, and play. Registration cost is $30 per child (includes one parent and admission for the day). CMON Member’s will receive a $10 discount per registration (log-in required). Help to spread the power of learning through play as we ramp up the fun with pop-up games and activities every hour, all day long. Our World: Worldwide Day of Play is part of Nickelodeon’s Our World global initiative to inspire kids and provide them with tools to activate their individual and collective agency. As part of a network of more than 300 ACM member children’s museums who reach mil- lions of families in North America, and the more than 1,000 museums participating in Museums for All, a national access initiative that ACM manages, CMON is a vital collaborator in the Our World: Worldwide Day of Play. Register for CMON After Dark THE BLUE EXHIBIT Returns to CMON Join us for this exclusive member-only preview of the THE BLUE EX- HIBIT!” Enjoy this special sneak peek on Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. “THE BLUE EXHIBIT” focuses on kid-powered interactive play through blocks of all sizes, balls, books, dress-up, and more! Young builders’ imag- inations can run wild as they combine foam building blocks into structures, systems, or shapes. Build life-sized forts to smaller towers and everything in between. If you can imagine it, you can build it! “THE BLUE EXHIBIT” will encourage learning through play and innovation, as kids interact with a bajillion blue items and create the fun! Plus each child will receive a special blue-inspired gift! Features: blue blocks, large and small for collaborative building; blue mag- natiles for small-scale building; light tables with translucent blocks for fine motor development; wind tube with scarves and ribbons for sensory options; blue dress-up for creative/dramatic role-play; foam noodles and peg boards for abstract play; a reading area with books for literacy focus. *Current CMON membership is required OR can be purchased or renewed that morning.
