NAPLES, Florida (June 19, 2023) – The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON) and Palina Studio have partnered once again to feature a collection of art pieces created by local student artists, entitled Little Artists.

Created by Palina Studio, this exhibit features a collection of artworks created by “little artists” aged 5 – 12 under the instruction of artist and designer, Palina Chavez. All artwork was painted with watercolor with and without graphite sketches under Chavez’s instruction. Chavez is a professional artist, designer, cultural promoter, book author and illustrator, mother, and educator. She dedicated her art and her talents to haute couture fashion on three continents before opening her studio in Naples.

“As an art teacher, I find it fascinating to learn from each of my little students about their own vision,” said Chavez. “Some kids need to follow the example to feel secure, some need absolute freedom, some need to sing while they paint, and some are just “born with brushes in their hands.” To be a teacher is a privilege and honor because I have a humongous responsibility of influence on their formation as creative human beings.”

CMON welcomes this exhibit and believes that creating art is important to childhood development. The Little Artists exhibit highlights the importance of art within the educational approach of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).

“CMON is honored to exhibit the second collection of artworks created by “Little Artists” under the instruction of Palina Chavez.” said CMON Chief Operations and Education Officer, Bonnie Thayer. “We believe that creating art is essential to a healthy and holistic education and this community partnership invites these little artists to display their creativity on our big blue atrium wall. We also want to give our visitors the opportunity to view wonderful artwork at all times in our museum and encourage them to develop their understanding and appreciation of art.”

Visit the Little Artists Expo presented by Palina Studio and exhibited at CMON now through August 1. This exhibit is included with admission. Additionally, Chavez’s artwork can be viewed locally at Gallery One on 5th Avenue, Naples and online at www.palinastudio.com.
