FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 31st, 2023) – The Children’s Advocacy Center of SWFL (CAC) announces the addition of a new member to its Board of Directors: Karen Hawes, retired Lee County manager & current Milliner, Hats by Hawes
Karen and her husband Richard moved to Florida in 1984. Throughout her career with the Lee County government, she held various positions and established progressive social programs that gained national recognition. She was honored for her work after hurricane Charley and later became the County Manager before retiring in 2012. In retirement, she started a Millinery business creating unique designer hats for special events here and internationally. She is married with four children, three grandchildren, and two fur babies.
