Fort Myers, FL (Jan. 30, 2023) – Aloia, Roland, Lubell & Morgan, PLLC, is pleased to announce an important partnership with Pensacola-based Levin Papantonio Rafferty, recognized as one of the top mass tort law firms in the country, to pursue claims on behalf of victims who are experiencing serious health problems related to certain Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines as well as hair relaxer and straightening products.

The law firms will work with clients who suffered health problems after using various models of the Philips CPAP machines and mechanical ventilators that were recalled in 2021 and various hair relaxer and straightening brands produced by multiple companies.

Serious illnesses have developed related to foam used in CPAP machines and ventilators. Foam particles that contain potentially toxic and harmful carcinogenic substances can disintegrate and be inhaled or ingested, according to reports. Among the health risks identified are cancer, respiratory issues, inflammation, and headaches, among many other issues.  There are time limits within which to file lawsuits after health problems have been identified, so if you have a potential claim, it is important you consult with an attorney as soon as possible.

Claims against manufacturers of hair relaxers and cosmetic hair straightening products are already being evaluated for clients who have developed various forms of cancer or other illnesses after using the products. A recent lawsuit was filed by a 28-year-old woman in October 2022, saying she developed uterine cancer, causing her to have a full hysterectomy the same year she was diagnosed. There have been numerous cases reported where uterine cancer was the primary injury after using certain products.

“This partnership is important, not only because of the number of potential victims being identified from using the CPAP machines defective and dangerous hair relaxer products, but also because of the experience

Levin Papantonio Rafferty brings to the table,” Aloia|Roland senior partner Evan Lubell said. “Thousands of innocent victims have suffered needlessly due to bad choices made by large corporations; we want to make sure potential victims receive full and fair compensation for the harms and losses they have already experienced and will continue to suffer in the future.”
