Alliance for the Arts to Host First Nude Nocturne, an Evening of Artistic Nudity
Event to take place March 30, 2024 and open to those 21+ only

FORT MYERS, FL (February 29, 2024) – Alliance for the Arts (AFTA) presents the first Nude Nocturne, a celebration of the human form set against the backdrop of artistic expression and uninhibited revelry. 

The evening will begin at 6:00 pm and feature three separate burlesque performances by Pixel Winters and Freckles Galore, the creators of The Carousel of Burlesque. Burlesque performances will be at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm. Tickets are for timed entry to each performance. A lesser priced ticket option will be available for an 8:00 pm entry which will not include the burlesque performance. All ticket holders are encouraged to stay and explore the entirety of the event.

Nice Guys Pizza will be pouring a selection of signature cocktails especially curated for the evening and Duke & Dame will be sampling their whiskey. A selection of mocktails and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. 

The venue will include live model painting, quick-draw figure sketching and mannequin painting, offering guests the opportunity to engage with their own creativity. The evening will also feature performances from aerial silk artists and two live DJ’s throughout the campus. 

The Main Gallery will feature large format nude paintings by Francesco Gilla. Pronaos was Gilla’s 2012 MFA thesis featuring sixteen oil paintings of large-scale, frontal nudes. In the 2022 installation, Binary Perception of Venus, Gilla locates the viewer in a transitional place, defined by a state of tension between the perception of our being and the sexuality of the subject. Gilla has since embraced the popular selfie icon of wings with gilded backgrounds as a mundane homage to the Byzantine sacred icons.

Smaller works of nude art, provided by Juli Congress Bobman from Behind the Buddha, will be displayed and available for purchase in both AFTA’s Theatre and Member Galleries

Nude Nocturne will take place Saturday, March 30, 2024 beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $45 in advance, $55 at the door if not sold out. Each ticket will be timed for one Burlesque performance except for one ticketing option available at $25 for an 8:00 pm entry that will not include a burlesque performance. Only those 21 and older may attend this event.
