The Alliance for the Arts (AFTA) will launch the innovative Bloom & Wallace Digital Arts Lab on Wednesday, August 23. The first of its kind in Lee County, the Bloom & Wallace Digital Arts Lab aims to provide opportunities for the public of all ages and abilities with an overarching goal to increase digital literacy and continue to eliminate barriers to arts participation in communities throughout Lee County.

The Bloom & Wallace Digital Arts Lab will provide the creative community the opportunity to learn and create on eleven computers equipped with state-of-the art hardware and a full suite of Adobe software, DaVinci Resolve and Computer-Aided Design (CAD). These programs will expand arts instruction in response to community needs and provide educational support for future careers and take the Alliance to new heights. 

Additional programs and classes will be enacted for all students to explore and hone skills in writing, filmmaking, podcasting, digital design, computer generated paintings, photography, digitally created music, e-books, 3D design, editing and other creative applications.

LAUNCH EVENT DETAILS:

The opening ceremony will take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, August 23, and will include the unveiling of theBloom & Wallace Digital Arts Lab mural and logo, both by local designers. Bloom & Wallace Digital Arts Lab benefactor Naomi Bloom and AFTA executive director Molly Rowan-Deckart will offer remarks about the importance and impact of the digital arts offerings to the community. 

The reception is invitation only and is not open to the public. Media is welcome to attend and interviews will be available with Molly Rowan-Deckart, Naomi Bloom and designers of the mural and logo.
