Saturday, March 20 • Head to the Big Apple and (virtually) experience the iconic Guggenheim Museum with your friends from the Alliance. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity lets you spend intimate time with Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future exhibition.

 

Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) is a long under-recognized innovator of abstract art. Her Paintings for the Future is one of the Guggenheim’s most popular exhibitions.
Zati Basket – Onsite Workshop

 

Saturday, March 27 • Baskets, though often used for decoration today, have for thousands of years served as useful containers, custom-made for the task at hand. In this workshop, learn to weave a basket from yarn and natural materials on a flat tapestry loom and surprise yourself with the shaping of a basket.
Classical Painting and Painting Studio with Terry Lynn Spry – Onsite Class

 

Tuesdays, March 30 – May 4 • Students are encouraged to work at their own level, and with their subject and medium of choice. In this class, you can expect to learn more about the spectrum of painting from realism to abstract, as well as, studies in portraiture, color control, compositions, value study and drawing.
Drawing Flowers – Onsite Class

 

Tuesdays, March 31 – May 5 • In this class for all levels, students will learn to draw realistic flowers using different mediums such as charcoal, pen, pink and colored pencil.
Intro to Digital Photography – Onsite Class

 

Thursdays, April 1 – 29 • Let’s get you comfortable with your DSLR camera! In this class, you’ll learn how to use the Manual mode on your camera to control your Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, and White Balance. We’ll also cover alternative shooting modes (Program Mode, Aperture Priority, and Shutter Priority), exposure compensation, and how to get the best photos in low-light situations.
Online Wine and Paint Night with David Acevedo

 

Thursday, April 8 • Belly up to the brush bar and paint along virtually with creative genius David Acevedo! For one night only, enjoy an evening of creating and clinking while wearing your comfy pants! David will take you through the steps to create your one-of-a-kind, whimsical masterpiece to fill that empty wall space you’ve been staring at.
Masterclass: Auditioning for Theatre with New York Casting Director, Chad Eric Murnane, CSA – Onsite Class

 

Saturday, April 10 • Learn how to audition for theatre from a New York casting professional! This masterclass will offer students the unique chance to work on their audition technique, improve their material, and get candid feedback in an educational, fun, and supportive environment.
Shapes of Water: Painting Water with Oils – Onsite Workshop

 

Saturday, April 17 • In this workshop students will not only learn how to paint water but strengthen their drawing skills, value control and color intuition. Oil is one of the most forgiving mediums and one of the best for painting water.
