Wood from Downed Trees at Edison & Ford Winter Estates Available to Local Wood Workers
FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 9, 2018) — Edison & Ford Winter Estates is offering wood from downed trees to local wood workers. Many large trees at the historic site were lost during Hurricane Irma. Some of the wood is rare or unusual, such as Pink Ivory, Blue Mahoe and African Mahogany. Wood workers are invited to view the wood on May 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. or Thursday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at 2145 Larchmont Avenue, Fort Myers, Fla. 33901.
After viewing the wood, interested wood workers will be required to submit a project proposal, including the size and species of wood desired; a description of the product(s) to be created from selected pieces; approximate retail value of the proposed piece; a list of previous projects, including awards or recognition received; and three photos of previous work, including the size and sales price of each piece.

Proposals will be reviewed as they are received and if approved, wood workers will be notified when they may pick up selected piece(s). Edison Ford reserves the right of first refusal to sell (on commission) any pieces created from the wood. Any unused wood will be returned to Edison Ford within three years of the contract date.
Interested wood workers may email Britta at [email protected].
