July 16, 2018 – Fort Myers, FL – Reggae comes to downtown Fort Myers for the Sounds of Summer! On Friday, August 10th, SWFL favorites Roots Almighty take the stage, with support from opening act, the Regulars. Stay cool and jam out to these laid back bands! The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located at 2301 First St. in the historic downtown Fort Myers River District.
The Sounds of Summer concerts feature exciting original musicians! Both emerging and well-known artists perform during Sounds of Summer. On Friday, August 10th, experience one of the area’s best reggae bands, Roots Almighty! This original act hails from Bonita Springs, and has been featured in the acclaimed Sugarshack Sessions. The Florida based group has played together for over a decade, first coming together in 2006 as “Deep Roots” later to be rebranded as “Jahgape” in 2011.
With previous releases under those bands and some international success, Roots Almighty was born and formed due to the musical and spiritual evolution of its core members. See them live, with opening act The Regulars. The Regulars were the winners of last year’s Summer Singer-Songwriter Competition at SBDAC. Take a listen to what they’ve been working on since then!
