FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 6, 2019) – The faithful and accurate execution of financial transactions sits at the top of a Tax Collector’s responsibilities.  For the 9th year in a row, your Lee County Tax Collector, Larry D. Hart, and his team have been honored with the Legacy Award for Financial Operations by the Florida Tax Collectors Association (FTCA).
“One of the most important things we do as an agency is making sure that we uphold the highest standards of accountability and integrity in the collection and distribution of the money collected throughout Lee County,” Hart said. “Our staff works to maintain consistency year to year throughout our annual audit, and the Legacy Award is a testament to their dedication and continued success in this regard.”
To receive this accommodation, a five-person judging panel, made up of government financial executives from throughout the state examined the Tax Collector’s processes in the following fields:
–       Customer Focus;
–       Innovation & Automation;
–       Perfect Annual Audit Report;
–       Budgeting.
This rigorous and comprehensive review focuses on the Tax Collector’s financial records, practices and use of technology.
FTCA President Ben Anderson lauded Mr. Hart and the staff at the Tax Collector’s office for their years of outstanding service.
