FORT MYERS, FL, (Oct 19, 2018) – This year in Lee County, there are approximately 2,957 people without a place to call a home. To help raise funds and awareness to end homelessness, the Lee County Homeless Coalition invites the community to join them on December 1, 2018 for their Fourteenth Annual Dinner and Silent Auction at the Colonial Country Club located at 9181 Independence Way in Fort Myers starting at 6:00 PM.
Tickets are $75 for coalition members and $85 for non-members. Sponsorship opportunities ranging from $350 to $2,500 include tickets and recognition at the event. In addition, members of the community can help the Lee County Homeless Coalition by donating items for the silent auction. Proceeds from the dinner support the Coalition and their mission.
This year’s Master of Ceremonies is Roger Mercado, Director, Lee County Department of Human & Veteran Services. Special Guest Speaker will be Michael V. Martin, Ph.D., President, Florida Gulf Coast University. Music will be performed by Galaxy and this year’s dress theme is “Come as Your Favorite ‘Character’”.
“There is still a great need for sponsors of this event,” said Janet Bartos, executive director of the Lee County Homeless Coalition. “The annual Dinner and Auction is one of the few times that the Southwest Florida community can pull together to help our fellow residents who are faced with homelessness. We appreciate the tremendous effort and support from partner agencies. We need the help of the Lee County community to make an impact with the children, families and the 2,957 individuals who are faced with homelessness each year.”
