The annual list highlights executives and visionaries across the state who are shaping Florida’s future through innovation, leadership and community engagement.

The Florida 500, often called Florida’s premier Rolodex, recognizes individuals for their contributions to business, education and civic life. Honorees are selected following extensive research, interviews and input from business and community leaders throughout the state.

“Dr. Allbritten’s inclusion in this year’s Florida 500 is a reflection of his steadfast leadership and vision for transforming higher education in Southwest Florida,” said FSW Board Chair Julia du Plooy. “His commitment to expanding access, affordability, and workforce opportunities, along with his focus on enriching student life, has made FSW a model for student-centered innovation statewide.”

Since becoming FSW’s president in 2013, Dr. Allbritten has led the college through a period of significant growth, expanding bachelor’s degree offerings, advancing workforce and technology programs, and launching the Institute for Innovative and Emerging Technologies. Under his leadership, FSW has built stronger community partnerships and reaffirmed its mission to transform lives and communities through academic excellence and innovation.

“Being named to the Florida 500 is truly an honor,” said Dr. Allbritten. “This recognition reflects the work of the faculty, staff, and students of FSW who bring our mission to life every day as well as the support of our trustees and partners in the Florida legislature.”
