January 9 | 7:00 pm Music & Arts Community Center  Join the Gulf Coast Symphony for a unique and captivating evening featuring two dynamic theat- rical works: Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” and Michael Daugherty’s “Dead Elvis.” “A Soldier’s Tale” is a dramatic piece that combines music, narration, and dance to tell the compelling story of a soldier who makes a deal with the devil. In contrast, “Dead Elvis” offers a whimsical and modern twist, featuring a bassoon soloist in a playful homage to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Also on this concert is Brazilian composer Bren- no Blauth’s charming Concertino for Oboe and Strings. January 11 | 7:30 pm & January 12 | 3:00 pm Music & Arts Community Center  Join Gulf Coast Symphony for a new classical series – Taking Flight. This immersive music and culinary ex- perience features our own fellows, who will choose and perform selections each month. We kick off this series by featuring new and undiscovered music. Travel through galaxies far, far away as we relive the music of Star Wars epic sound- track for all nine movies of the Skywalker Saga. Led by Jedi Maestro Kurtz, join the Gulf Coast Symphony for the ultimate Star Wars musical experience, the force a- waits! Audience members are encouraged to dress as their fav- orite Star Wars character as we transform the MACC in- to the Mos Eisley Cantina. Note: This concert will be music only, not accompanied by a film screen.
