Story Opportunity: Community Cooperative’s Full Plates Project Needs Support

Community Cooperative Urgently Calls for Turkey Donations to Feed Southwest Florida Families This Holiday Season

FORT MYERS, Fla. As the holidays approach, Community Cooperative is calling on the Southwest Florida community to step forward and help ensure no family faces an empty table this season. The organization’s Full Plates Project is in full swing, providing holiday meals and emergency groceries to local families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

This year, the demand for assistance has increased significantly. Many households are struggling to stretch reduced SNAP benefits while managing rising grocery and housing costs. Community Cooperative’s Community Market, Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen, and Mobile Food Pantries are seeing record numbers of visitors seeking help each week.

“We’re meeting more families than ever before,” said Stefanie Ink Edwards, CEO of Community Cooperative. “The holidays can be especially painful for those who feel they have to choose between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table.” The Full Plates Project depends on donations, volunteers, and food drives to meet growing community needs. Every contribution helps provide families with holiday meals and moments of comfort during a difficult time. Community Cooperative invites everyone to get involved by:

● Donating: Every dollar directly supports meals and groceries for families in need.

● Hosting a Food Drive: Businesses, schools, and neighborhoods can collect nonperishable items to help stock pantry shelves.

● Volunteering: Help distribute food, prepare meals, or serve at Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen.

“When our community comes together, we can make sure every plate is full this holiday season” said Stefanie Ink Edwards, CEO of Community Cooperative. For more information on how to host a food drive, volunteer, or make a donation, visit www.CommunityCooperative.com or call 239-332-7687.
