South Seas sends off summer with Labor Day Weekend celebration and fall getaways on Captiva Island
South Seas is closing out the summer season in island style with a four-day Labor Day Weekend celebration packed with beach games, live entertainment, special dining experiences and sunset gatherings. Running Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7, the holiday lineup gives families one last chance to soak up summer before ushering in a fall season of getaways on Captiva Island.
The weekend builds to Sunday evening, when South Seas brings back its beloved Sunset Shell-A-Bration. The beach party takes over Sunset Beach from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, sending off summer with island celebration as the sun drops into the Gulf.
Labor Day Weekend highlights include:
- Friday, Sept. 4: Movie and popcorn on the Bayview Lawn at 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 5: Beach yoga at Sunset Beach, family aqua yoga at Captiva Landing, T-shirt tie dye at Camp-Tiva, Hydrobattle and water balloon toss, a live DJ and face painting at Bayview Pool, bingo, a Sunset BBQ buffet with s’mores at The Clutch and a silent disco with glow golf.
- Sunday, Sept. 6: A lazy river walk, hula hoops and bingo at Bayview Pool, build a beach buddy at Camp-Tiva, a dinner buffet of classic barbecue favorites at Beach House and the Beach Party and Sunset Shell-A-Bration at Sunset Beach.
- Monday, Sept. 7: Face painting and balloons at Captiva Landing, followed by a magic show at the Registration Building at 7 p.m.
Labor Day weekend activities are available to registered guests of South Seas and members of Club Captiva. The Sip and Shop from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at The Shops at South Seas is open to the public.
