MarkhamNorton Hosts Annual FREE Community Shred Day Event to Benefit United Way
FORT MYERS, FL (February 19, 2026) – MarkhamNorton Accountants+Advisors will partner with All Points Mobile Shredding to host its annual FREE Community Shred Day on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at MarkhamNorton’s recently renovated Fort Myers office — the same convenient location, now featuring a modern and refreshed look — located at 8961 Conference Drive.
This event provides a secure and convenient way for community members to safely dispose of sensitive documents. While shredding services are free, MarkhamNorton encourages attendees to support the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties through voluntary donations. Contributions may include monetary donations, canned or non-perishable food items, or new and gently used clothing.
A representative from United Way will be on-site to accept donations and provide information about the organization’s programs and community impact.
“We’re thrilled to host our FREE Community Shred Day again this year, providing an opportunity for the community to safely dispose of documents while supporting United Way’s important work,” said Camila Sanchez Perez, Marketing Coordinator at MarkhamNorton. “It’s a great way for individuals to protect their personal information while giving back to a meaningful cause.”
Items accepted for shredding include bank statements, tax records, contracts, blank checks, and other sensitive documents. Staples, paper clips, binder clips, metal prongs in hanging folders, and spiral-bound notebooks are also permitted. A helpful rule of thumb: if it tears, it can be shredded.
Items not accepted for shredding include X-rays, three-ring binders, colored plastic sheets, and electronic items such as hard drives, cell phones, laptops, computers, or batteries. All shredded materials will be recycled to support environmentally responsible practices.
