Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee will let the good times roll with the free French Quarter Funk Fest Saturday, Feb. 7. Gates open at 2 p.m. The event will feature outdoor live concerts by Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Soul Rebels, Buckwheat Zydeco Jr., and Zach Person. The “KC and the Sunshine Band: Doin’ It World Tour” with opening act Luci Martin and Norma Jean Wright is heading to Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee on Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. with gates opening at 7 p.m. Tickets for this outdoor concert are available from Ticketmaster or at www.moreinparadise.com. The concert is open to all ages and parking is free.

KC and the Sunshine Band are still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced into the music scene 50 years ago. Harry Wayne Casey – KC for short – developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way (I Like It)” and “Shake Your Booty.” With sales of over 100 million records, nine GRAMMY nominations, three GRAMMY Awards and an American Music Award, KC and the Sunshine Band was one of the most progressive bands of the 70s and is credited with changing the sound of modern pop music.

Opening for KC will be Luci Martin and Norma Jean Wright, who brought style, sophistication, and soul to CHIC as the group’s original lead vocalists. Alongside producers Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards and drummer Tony Thompson, these legendary ladies made CHIC synonymous with infectious hooks and timeless grooves. They collected a wall of gold and platinum albums, fueling the charts with hits that dominated clubs and airwaves across the globe.
