Pinwheels in the Park

Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida and Mighty Mussels Team Up for Fourth Annual Pinwheels in the Park Event

FORT MYERS, FL – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to recognize the importance of protecting children from abuse and neglect. To promote awareness and highlight the services provided by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC), the organization is partnering with the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels for the fourth annual Pinwheels in the Park event on Saturday, April 19.

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America designated the pinwheel as the national symbol for child abuse prevention. The pinwheel represents playfulness and joy, serving as a physical reminder of the safe and happy childhoods all children deserve.

The Mighty Mussels will take on the Bradenton Marauders at Lee Health Sports Complex on April 19, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Prior to the game, the stadium will host a family-friendly Easter egg hunt for children, beginning one hour before game time. To show their support for child abuse prevention, the Mighty Mussels will wear custom Pinwheel jerseys, with select pieces available for purchase through an online auction after the game.

Tickets to the April 19 game are $15 and can be purchased online at https://www.gofevo.com/event/CAC25. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida, helping the organization continue its vital mission of advocating for and supporting children and families in need.
