Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Golf Club at Crown Colony
(FORT MYERS, Fla. September 24, 2025) – LARC (Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens) is rallying young golfers across Southwest Florida for the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge, a first-of-its-kind fundraiser designed exclusively for kids and teens in grades 1–12. The event tees off Saturday, October 25, 2025, at The Golf Club at Crown Colony (8851 Crown Colony Blvd., Fort Myers) with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
This scramble-format tournament blends friendly competition with a bigger purpose: empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through LARC’s job training, residential support, and inclusive community programs. Players of every skill level—from brand-new to seasoned—will enjoy on-course challenges, prizes, lunch, swag, a special event tee shirt, and a celebratory awards ceremony.
“This is about kids lifting up our community,” said Angela Katz, LARC Executive Director. “When students fundraise and play, they’re helping people gain life skills, find meaningful work, and live more independently. We welcome every level of golfer—because the real win is showing what inclusion, kindness, and youth leadership look like in action.”
How to participate:
- Fundraising goal: Each golfer is asked to raise a minimum of $150, directly benefiting LARC’s programs.
- Prizes: The top three fundraisers will receive special prizes, and a hole-in-one challenge features a magical Disney vacation for four.
- Reaching $150 is simple:
- 10 friends at $15 or 15 friends at $10 gets you there.
- Sponsor-Per-Hole Challenge: Ask friends and family to pledge an amount per hole (e.g., $10 x 9 holes = $90).
- Collect Change Campaign: Decorate a jar and turn spare change into real impact.
- Gifts that Give Back: Request donations in lieu of birthday or holiday presents.
- Chores for a Cause: Mow lawns, rake leaves, walk dogs, or wash cars.
- Share Your Story: With a parent’s help, post a short video on social media with your goal and donation link.
Businesses and community partners can champion inclusion by sponsoring the event. Packages include promotional benefits while sending a clear message that young people matter and people of all abilities belong. Sponsors help build a stronger, more connected Southwest Florida.
