FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 26, 2026) – Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Stefanie Ink Edwards to the Florida Commission on Community Service, also known as Volunteer Florida, reaffirming her leadership and commitment to strengthening volunteerism, disaster response, and community resilience in Southwest Florida and across the state.
Ink Edwards will continue to serve as Chair of the Emergency Management Committee and as an At-Large Member of the Executive Board for Volunteer Florida, roles in which she helps guide statewide strategies for disaster preparedness, volunteer mobilization, and coordinated response efforts during times of crisis.
“Serving on the Volunteer Florida Commission is a true honor, and I am grateful to Governor DeSantis for the continued trust to serve another term,” said Ink Edwards. “Florida’s ability to respond to emergencies and support communities before, during, and after disasters depends on strong partnerships, engaged volunteers, and thoughtful planning. I’m proud to continue advancing this work on behalf of our state.”
In her role as Emergency Management Committee Chair, Ink Edwards works closely with state and local partners to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into disaster response and recovery efforts. As an at-large Executive Board member, she contributes to the overall governance and strategic direction of Volunteer Florida as well as supporting the Volunteer Florida Foundation.
Ink Edwards brings extensive strategic nonprofit leadership experience to the Commission as Chief Executive Officer of Community Cooperative and Meals on Wheels of SWFL, a local Southwest Florida nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and homelessness. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded innovative programs and mobilized thousands of volunteers to meet growing community needs.
The Florida Commission on Community Service is a bipartisan body that promotes volunteerism and service throughout the state of Florida, administering national service programs and coordinating volunteer and fundraising efforts during disasters and emergencies.
