Greetings FGCU Service-Learning Community Partners!
Summer is a reinvigorating time for many in our community. While many students are focused on completing summer courses, there is also a significant need for student engagement in the community, especially as many regular volunteers travel north for the season. At FGCU, summer is also a time of preparation as we get ready to welcome back our 15,000 undergraduate students in the fall.
We’d like to share two upcoming opportunities related to community engagement with FGCU:
Registration is now open for our FREE Summer Community Partner Workshop, August 6, 2025, 9am-1pm using THIS LINK.
- Open to new and returning agencies
- No ZOOM option available
- Deadline to register is Friday, August 1, 2025
- The last hour of the workshop is reserved for networking and a light lunch
- Please register with the email address of the individual attending the workshop as this is the email we will send event confirmation and details.
- Consider sharing this information and invite other nonprofits or government agencies that you engage with in the community.
Reserve a table for the Fall Service-Learning Fair occurring on September 2, 2025, 10am-2pm using THIS LINK. Spaces are limited and they fill fast!
- You must be a registered agency in our Community Partner Database to participate in this exciting event.
- Over 700 FGCU students, faculty, and staff looking to connect with organizations like yours!
- Registering your organization a table does not automatically include lunch.
- Prepare for your organization to be at your table the entire time, from 10 am-2 pm. Leaving early may impact your registration at future service-learning fairs [Note: Many students are required to come for class and cannot make it until the last hour of the fair].
- Understand there is only space for a maximum of three (3) people from your organization to stand at your table at any given time.
REMINDERS:
- If you need to update contact information for your agency, simply locate your Agency Listing in the DATABASE using the Search feature. Once inside your agency listing, click the “Request to Update Information” button at the bottom. No sign-in required!
- If there’s something on your to-do list, our students can help! Submit your service-learning opportunities using this form.
- Remember to consider all four types of service (Direct, Indirect, Advocacy, and Research) and how students can serve you through short and long-term opportunities.
