Why this piece is a must-see: Anton Bruckner, one of the great composers of the Romantic era, composed his Mass No. 3 in F minor during a time of deep spiritual devotion. This ex- traordinary work is often regarded as one of the most profound and power- ful Mass settings ever written, filled with lush harmonies and deeply moving choral and orchestral parts. Unlike other Masses, Bruckner’s Mass No. 3 draws on his skillful mastery of counterpoint and orchestral color, producing a sound that is at once majestic and intimate.
