CEO XChange Launches with Two High-Impact Sessions –
Setting a New Standard for Executive Collaboration in

Southwest Florida

The Florida SBDC at FGCU is proud to report that the first two sessions of CEO
XChange have delivered on every promise—and then some. This exclusive, invi-
tation-only executive roundtable was developed to serve the region’s most for-
ward-thinking CEOs and business leaders, providing a confidential, high-trust for-
um to discuss real business challenges, sharpen leadership skills, and tap into the
collective insight of experienced peers.

After years of planning and refinement, the program officially launched in February—
and the response from our first cohort of members has been overwhelming. With
the support of seasoned FSBDC consultants and the commitment of each partici-
pant, the inaugural session created a space that was candid, strategic, and deeply
energizing. As one member shared:

“I am exceedingly grateful for the work you have done in getting this program to-
gether. In addition to your work, the presence of such experienced consultants and
SBDC representatives is a remarkably generous gift of time and expertise. To then
add such a polished presentation from John Shannon, this experience has exceed-
ed even my highest expectations.”

Our guest speaker for the first meeting, John Shannon, set a high bar with a presen-
tation that sparked meaningful conversation and immediate takeaways for the group.
The value was clear: this isn’t a passive networking group—it’s a working room of
leaders seeking clarity, accountability, and real progress.

March’s second session continued that momentum and built on it in the most power-
ful way. Our featured speaker, Karen Shepherd, founder of HR by Karen, deliver-
ed an unforgettable presentation rooted in her own story of growth, resilience, and
leadership. With a background spanning over 20 years in the legal industry and HR
leadership, Karen’s message centered on the three simple but profound words that
have shaped her journey: “Why not you?”

Her talk challenged every CEO in the room to reflect on their leadership, their cul-
ture, and the courage required to lead not just a company—but people. Karen’s pre-
sence was as positive and genuine as her message was impactful, and members re-
sponded with enthusiasm and appreciation.

“Karen brought something very real to the table. Her story, her energy—it connected.
And it reminded all of us why we’re here: to keep growing, to stay grounded, and to
lead with intention.”

Each CEO XChange meeting includes structured time for networking, peer updates,
and problem-solving—ensuring that every session is both practical and deeply en
gaging. From strategic discussions to operational hurdles, members are encouraged
to bring real issues to the table, knowing they’ll receive honest feedback from people
who understand the weight of leadership.

What’s emerging is not just a program—it’s a community.

“You’re going to have a lot of interest in this program.”

As we look toward the rest of the 2025 schedule, the tone has been set: honest, fo-
cused, and high-value. CEO XChange is quickly becoming a trusted space for CEOs
who are serious about elevating their leadership and navigating the complexities of
business growth with greater clarity, confidence, and support.

We’re grateful to our speakers, our FSBDC consultants, and most importantly, our
members—for showing up with openness, purpose, and a willingness to share and
learn.
