Correction: Beat the Heat with Jazz That Grooves

A Cool Night of Jazz for SWFL

A new summer tradition begins—groove with us at the MACC.

Just announced: our first-ever summer jazz concert, made for Southwest
Florida locals.

The snowbirds are gone, but we’re heating things up for those of us sticking around.
For the first time ever, the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective is adding a special summer
performance to the schedule—and you’re invited.

Jazz That Grooves
📅 July 19 | 7:30 PM
📍 Music & Arts Community Center

Led by drummer and composer Paul Gavin, this all-star quartet—featuring guitar,
sax, bass, and drums—dives into the groove with jazz interpretations of funk, R&B,
neo-soul, New Orleans Second Line, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian music.

The program includes music by Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Duke Ellington, and Dizzy
Gillespie, plus original works from the band—featuring two world premieres by Paul
himself.

It’s the perfect way to chill out on a hot summer night—surround yourself with smooth
grooves, great vibes, and music that moves you. Join us for an evening that will cool
you down and lift your spirits, all while enjoying some of the coolest jazz in town.
