Community Cooperative Kicks Off Annual PB&J Drive to Combat Food Insecurity

FORT MYERS, Fla. (March, 2026) – Community Cooperative announces its annual Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive, an initiative rooted in the organization’s history of providing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to those in need. This annual event serves as a tribute to that simple yet meaningful act of kindness, bringing the community together to address food insecurity in Southwest Florida.

Throughout April, individuals, schools, churches, businesses, and community groups are encouraged to participate by collecting peanut butter, alternative nut butters, and jelly or jam (plastic containers preferred). These staple foods play a vital role in supporting the families served by Community Cooperative, offering a nutritious and convenient meal option for both children and adults.

How to Get Involved:
Participants are encouraged to form groups with friends, family, coworkers, or members of their organization to collect as many PB&J items as possible. A friendly community competition will determine the title of “Most Love Collected” in one of three categories:

    • Schools/Churches
    • Organizations
    • Communities (by door count)

Early sign-ups are available for groups to register and receive promotional materials to enhance their collection efforts.
New to this year’s competition: every dollar collected adds on extra pound to your total weight!

Donations can be dropped off throughout the month of April or on weigh-in day Monday, April 27th, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Community Cooperative, 3429 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916.

For more information or to get involved, contact Albert at [email protected] or call (239) 332-7687 ext. 125
Community members are invited to join in spreading the love—one jar at a time!
