City of Fort Myers employees raise more than $25,000 for
United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades
City of Fort Myers employees raised $25,764 to support local nonprofits through its internal fundraising effort for United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades’ annual campaign. Proceeds will help United Way reach its 2025-2026 campaign goal of $11,512,716.
The City of Fort Myers has participated in United Way’s annual fundraising campaigns for the past 30 years, with employees contributing more than $400,000 in individual pledges since the City began participating.
“We’re proud to continue supporting the United Way fundraising campaign,” said City of Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson. “As a United Way Board member, I’ve seen firsthand the impact these efforts have on families, and I’m grateful to our employees and local businesses whose generosity helps build a stronger, more resilient region.”
United Way Interim President and CEO Hannah Pelle added, “City of Fort Myers employees continue to set an inspiring example of what it means to invest in the well-being of their neighbors. Their contributions help United Way connect individuals and families with assistance and resources to navigate challenges when they need it the most.”
All monies donated to the United Way campaign remain in the community to support the local human service network of partner agencies. United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades was established in 1957 and has raised and distributed more than $272 million since its inception.
