Children’s Advocacy Center of SWFL Hosts Inaugural “CAC Reimagined” Fundraiser, Raising $140,000 in First Year
An evening of childlike wonder brings hope, healing, and inspiration to Southwest Florida

Fort Myers, FL – On April 10, 2025, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC of SWFL) hosted its first-ever CAC Reimagined fundraiser at the historic Alderman House in downtown Fort Myers. With a whimsical theme of childlike wonder, the evening welcomed more than 160 guests and raised an impressive $140,000—a remarkable milestone for its inaugural year.
The event was a joyful, nostalgic celebration of childhood dreams and a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting and supporting vulnerable children in our community. Guests were transported into a world of imagination and possibility through thoughtful, interactive touches: a wishing well invited attendees to reflect on the dreams of their younger selves, while a photo booth—complete with playful career-themed props—encouraged guests to envision bright futures for the children served by CAC.
Cheerful rainbow pinwheel centerpieces added a pop of color to each table and were given as keepsakes. Tables were lined with white paper and vibrant crayons, sparking creativity as guests doodled, dreamed, and shared childhood memories.
“The heart of CAC Reimagined was to celebrate the childhood every child deserves while raising vital funds for children in crisis,” said Alicia Shannon, CEO of CAC of SWFL. “This event reminded us of the joy, freedom, and potential every child should experience—and thanks to the incredible support of our community, we’re one step closer to making that a reality for the children we serve.”
The funds raised will directly support CAC’s mission to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children affected by abuse and neglect—where they can share their stories, begin to heal, and thrive with wraparound support. Services offered include forensic interviews, medical exams, therapy, advocacy, prevention programs, and community education—all under one roof.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all sponsors, attendees, and volunteers who made this unforgettable evening possible. Special gratitude is extended to our Dream Maker Sponsors: the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Nor-Tech, and Storm Smart. Your commitment to protecting children and empowering healing helped bring this vision to life.
