The South Seas Captiva Island Triathlon returns Sunday, Sept. 27, welcoming athletes of all levels to Captiva Island for a beginner-friendly, USA Triathlon-sanctioned race weekend produced by Game On Race Events. The event features five race formats: a Super Sprint Tri (200-yard swim, 5-mile bike, 1.5-mile run) designed for first-timers, along with a Sprint Triathlon (.25-mile swim, 10-mile bike, 3.1-mile run), Sprint Duathlon, Sprint Aquabike and a two- or three-person Sprint Triathlon Relay.

Racers will swim in the Gulf of Mexico, ride a course closed to vehicular traffic and finish with a run along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Registration ranges from $129 to $239 through Aug. 22, with prices increasing after that date. The race is also a 2026 USA Triathlon Florida State Championship ranking point event. Athletes and spectators can extend the weekend with a stay at host venue South Seas, the 330-acre resort and wildlife preserve on Captiva.
