CAPE CORAL, Fla. (April 29, 2019) – The Sullivan State Farm Agency strongly believes in three essential principles: family, safety and community. That’s why they’re sponsoring Officer John Jorgensen, who is participating in the Law Enforcement United 2019 Virginia Road to Hope Bicycle Ride during National Police Week.
Law Enforcement United honors the service and sacrifice of all law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty and remembers the survivors left behind. Officer Jorgensen, who has been an officer at the Roseville Police Department in Minnesota for over 20 years, will ride in the physically challenging event from Chesapeake, VA to Washington, D.C. from Thursday, May 9 to Tuesday, May 14. Riders train and prepare to ride more than 250 miles over three days.
Agents Mike and Dawn Sullivan strongly support the law enforcement community and have spent most of their lives surrounded by individuals who live to serve and protect. Officer Jorgensen and Mike are longtime best friends and both of Dawn’s brothers, Joseph Nitti and Dominick Nitti, are retired law enforcement officers. Dawn’s nephew, Thomas Nitti, is currently a State Trooper in upstate New York.
“It’s truly an honor to support our friend Jorgy [Office Jorgensen] in this honorable ride,” Mike said. “Every day, thousands of men and women put themselves in harm’s way to protect and serve their communities. It’s our responsibility to have their backs.”
Similar to the police force’s mission, the Sullivan State Farm Agency strives to help life go right. The insurance agency is supplying Officer Jorgensen with a rain jacket to protect him against any harsh weather conditions during his ride. He will also receive a Thin Blue Line Flag as a symbol of empathy for the families of officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Funds raised for Law Enforcement United benefits The Road to Hope Bicycle Ride, Project Active Armor, Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), The Officer Down Memorial Page (O.D.M.P.), and Spirit of Blue Foundation.
