Stevens Construction honored at the Lee Building Industry Association Awards

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 12, 2019) – Stevens Construction Inc. earned two awards at the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) Industry Awards event on Nov. 9, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

Stevens Construction won a Summit Award for the best healthcare project for Elmquist Eye Group. Stevens Construction provided Elmquist Eye Group with the due diligence required, allowing it to make an educated decision to purchase an existing building and renovate within its budget. Elmquist Eye Group features an optical boutique offering a vast selection of designer eyewear and state-of-the-art technology. The welcoming lobby includes expansive windows providing natural light to patients and staff. Completed in five months, the 7,200-square-foot medical office includes nine exam rooms, a procedure room, administration and staff lounge.

Stevens Construction also won a Summit Award for best public works project for Bonita Springs Utilities, Inc. Customer Service building. Stevens Construction worked with Bonita Springs Utilities during preconstruction to provide cost and constructability analysis to compare if it would to be more cost effective to demolish the existing building and build new. Delivered under budget and ahead of schedule, Stevens Construction built a new 6,450-square-foot building to better serve the community, the board of directors and staff.

Stevens Construction has earned 52 Summit Awards since the program began in 2006.

The Summit Awards program recognizes BIA members who have obtained an outstanding level of success and demonstrated superior professionalism in the commercial construction industry throughout the year. The projects were judged for quality of construction, challenges, timeliness of completion, client satisfaction and safety.
