Why: Lee County School Board member, Mary Fischer has announced that she is considering action that would rescind her vote in favor of doing away with High Stakes Testing throughout Lee County School District. Fischer voted in favor of opting-out of High Stakes testing at last Wednesday’s Lee County School Board Meeting. This conference will address some of the misconceptions and confusion subsequent to the recent passage of the decision; provide a platform for discussion of what’s at stake in the current High Stakes Testing environment; and demand that the emergency School Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday at 8:30AM be changed to 6PM, when teachers, parents, and students can participate.
